Meshes
Meshs are normally specified in count/inch or count/cm. They are chosen to allow a desired amount/size of 'filtrate' through, thus deciding the mesh count and its subsequent parameters. Deciding the mesh for an applications is where true value engineering comes to play.
Our Meshs stainless steel mesh, phosphor bronze mesh, specialty meshes are woven under international ASTM standards and are known for consistency. Our Standard Meshes are listed below, however WMW manufactures numerous meshes specialized for numerous applications.

Materials: Typically all weaveable ferrous & non-ferrous metals can be used, as well as combinations of metal and synthetic yarns to create special hybrid meshes. However, the most common materials used for SS are:
AISI Stainless Steel - 304L, 310S, 316, 316L, 316Ti, 317L, 904L
Forms: Meshes are normally made to size ready to install thus making it convenient for the end user. Our fabrics are used in many ways but widely used as Dandy covers / Mould covers, on Pulp mill applications such as thickeners, washers, ETP, Hill screens, Deinking etc. They are used as Diagonal seamed fabrics or open ended roll form. This would depend on the product being manufactured and the sophistication of one's machine.

Phosphor Bronze Mesh
Primarily used for the Security paper and bank note manufacturing process, these special meshes are unique. Anyone can appreciate the quality and sophistication of a currency note and thus can imagine that the mesh needs to match that level of sophistication. The embossing of the currency features happen on the mesh and our products are well established in multiple mills making some of the most complex and delicate emboss prints.

The most common materials used are: CuSn 3 to CuSn 10 depending on the application
Special Heat treatment - Annealing
Some meshes can also be supplied with special heat treatments for better formidability and embossing needs. This process 'de-stresses' the fabric to able to withstand higher embossing pressure thus retaining its shape during the cover making process. This is a specialty of WMW and we are one of the few in the world who can heat treat mesh. This is a result of years of research and trials which has enabled us to give consistent, high quality annealed fabrics.

Twill Dutch Weave
The fabric weave defines the function of the mesh. The most commonly used and preferred weave is the plain weave. However, we are able to weave any type the application demands. Custom weaves engineered to meet custom applications are a specialty of WMW.
To meet your requirements, we can alter:
- The diameter of the wires in the warp & weft direction
- Alter the mesh count or spacing in the warp or weft.
- The weave pattern
- Use special material combinations to achieve desired characteristics like life filtration ability etc.
With more than 50 years of seaming expertise, our seams are strong, reliable, non-marking and are an integral part of the mesh. Wire to wire is individually welded with utmost precision, decades old experience and new age techniques. We undertake heavy designing and testing of our seams to ensure they remain intact and secure. These seam types are selected based on application & process needs. We are also the pioneers to introduce the Plasma Seam series to showcase the next gen of Seams for high corrosive environments.

Plasma Seam
A technologically advanced endless join either diagonal or straight. Each wire is individually welded to another with utmost precision under microscope. Suitable for all environments as the entire seam is of SS 316L grade without any 2nd material present.

Silver Seam
Most proven endless join either diagonal or straight. Best for corrosive and high-speed applications. Made using a special silver alloy to withstand hard corrosion.

Gold Seam
Technologically robust seam for highly corrosive environments where seam life and flatness is of prime importance. Made using a special gold alloy for special applications.

Stitch Seam
Specialty straight seam for conveyor and fixed applications designed for robustness and strength.
Ultrasonic Cleaning
We are one of the few who can clean the mesh with ultrasonic technology to remove 99.87% of all oil and dirt. This ensures that the mesh is more conductive and clean which can be critical in some applications. Our process ensures no dirt or oil residue and no chemical trace on the fabric. This treatment is limited to our stainless steel range of meshes.

Edges Treatments
Often overlooked, the edges are a key distinguishing factor that may just define the life of the fabric. Mesh edges are secured to prevent unravelling, which can cause belt and conveyor damage. Edge treatments are another integral design parameter often overlooked.
